As of 2018 there are 33 Republicans, 16 Democrats, and 1 Independent holding the office of governor in the states. There are 2 Democrats, 1 Independent and 2
Republicans (one is also a member of the New Progressive Party) as
governor of United States Territories and Mayor of the District of
Columbia.
At present, Republicans control 67 of the 99, and control both chambers in 32 states. Democrats control 32 chambers, and both chambers in 14 states. Only four states have divided control of their legislatures.
That's a 2 to 1 edge in both Governors and control of State Houses by Republicans.
Of course, our president is a Republican.
The U.S. Senate is majority Republican.
The U.S. House is majority Republican.
The U.S. Supreme Court is majority Republican.

The liberal claim that this country is a majority liberal/Democratic country is a false fact fantasy.
Except for president and the Supreme Court the Republicans have held these majorities for quite a few years.
The Republicans won over 60 seats in the House in the 2010 midterm election. The Democrats need only win less than a third of that many seats in 2018 to gain majority in the House and only two seats in the Senate.
All these majorities were not gained by voter suppression.
The Democrats will not regain majority in the State Houses, or Governorship's.
The next time voting districts are mapped (2021) Democrats will be far short of the majority needed to have any influence on that process.
The Republicans will have the gerrymander edge for years to come.
Another hind teat to suck.
